Pelosi falsely claims Bill Owens supports public option

Wednesday, November 4, 2009

For some unknown reason Pelosi is ecstatic:

"From our perspective, we won last night. We had one race that we were engaged in, it was in northern New York, it was a race where a Republican has held the seat since the Civil War. And we won that seat. So, from our standpoint, no, a candidate was victorious who supports health care reform, and his remarks last night said this was a victory for health care reform and other initiatives for the American people."

Well she's right about one thing, this actually is a victory for health care. Owens campaigned against the public option. Oops!

Also, Democrat Michael R. McNulty represented NY-23 from 1989-1993. Not quite as far back as the civil war.

I don't think Pelosi can accurately sum up NY-23 as a complete victory as it wasn't necessarily a loss for Republicans. Scozzafava was a RINO who should not have been representing conservatives in the first place. The fact that Owens won shows that tea partiers are willing to risk a loss in the name of principle and for the hope of better politicians to come.
Also, she is trying to play this up b/c it was the only significant win the Democrats had last night. All others were pittance compared to GOP governor wins.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

I agree. This was a BIG win for Conservatives because we showed the Republican leadership that we will not support their RINOs. If they try to pull any mor of the crap on us they'll lose even more elections. They think the future of the Republican party lies in attracting more liberal supporters. If that's the case, than we conservatives don't want any part with the Republicans. WE think the future lies in reviving strong fiscal and moral conservative principles and taking back the country with the fact that they work, just like Reagan did.

Steele and the rest of you RNC hacks, you will be fighting Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin, Beck, and the entire "Tea Party" grassroots movement if you disagree, and I promise you you will not last long. We will take back the party, and then America.

That's a great point John Gault. Yesterday was perhaps the most successful day for conservatives in my lifetime. People finally refused to vote for liberal Republicans out of principle, even if it means sacrificing the elections. Scossaphonie's robo calls for Democrat Owens revealed her true colors!

Nowhere in the Huffpo article you link to states that Owens is opposed to the Public Option.

This is misleading.

Thanks for catching that mistake, Steve. The correct link has been inserted. Here are a few more for your you:
