Did Obama's Environmental Chief Advisor Cause California's Rolling Blackouts?

Sunday, September 6, 2009

As news of the resignation of Obama's green czar Van Jones broke, I was surprised to learn that he served under the White House Council on Environmental Quality. I have never heard of such a council.

The chair of this council and President Obama's principal environmental policy adviser is Nancy Sutly.

That name might ring a bell, because she served as energy advisor in the former Gov. Gray Davis administration in California where she was "managing state and federal regulations, legislative affairs, finances and press relations."

Remember all those rolling blackouts and the huge energy crisis that led to the infamous recall of Gray Davis? Yea.

She is also a big gay rights activist, having served in Sen. Hillary Clinton's California Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender steering committee.
