Romney Takes Lead Of GOP, Blasts Obama

Monday, June 1, 2009

Romney blasted Obama for his "tour of apology" to foreign nations.

"Britain’s Guardian newspaper noted that Mr. Obama has been more critical of his own country, while on foreign soil, than any other president in American history," Romney told the Heritage Foundation, "That would be a most unfortunate distinction at any time."

Romney sharply criticized Obama for cutting national defense spending and ballooning domestic spending.

A few days ago Mitt Romney suggested that Obama should disperse GM stock to taxpayers, something Jack Welch, the former GE chairman, called a "good idea." Today, Romney criticized Obama for waiting so long to let GM declare bankruptsy.

While he offered some praise of Obama, it came with plenty of criticism. Obama's health care will be a disaster, he added.
