UPDATE: Easy Way to Email CA Reps about PRop 8

Tuesday, February 17, 2009

I received the following email from The National Organization for Marriage that includes a link where you can email every one of the California state Representatives with a message asking them to respect the voice of the people in passing Prop 8 and protecting marriage. Please follow the link and let them know that what they are doing is not okay!

The California legislature is considering legislation that would trample the will of 7 million California voters and attempts to improperly influence the Prop 8 litigation pending before the California Supreme Court.

The bills (SR7 and AR5) are being heard in the Senate and Assembly Judiciary Committees today, and could quickly move to a floor vote, despite the ongoing financial crisis in the state. We need your help! Tell the California legislature to stop trying to shove gay marriage down the throats of all Californians!

As the largest financial supporter of Prop 8, NOM California is determined to make sure that all your efforts are not undone by a handful of judges or even a few dozen legislators. Every vote counts, and the voice of the people must be respected.

There will be dozens of pro-marriage supporters attending the hearings in Sacramento, with rallies being held outside the hearing rooms for the expected overflow crowds. But we can all participate, helping to remind California legislators to respect the voice of the people.

Here's what I need you to do TODAY!

Flood the Statehouse with calls and emails. With just a few clicks of the mouse, you can send an email message to all 10 members of the Assembly Judiciary Committee as well as the 5 members of the Senate Committee. We need everyone's help, but if you live in California, your participation is especially important! Click here to get started!

God bless,
